Main Law Courts Building in Freetown, 28th February, 2025: The Court of Appeal has ordered the State to confiscate all the houses illegally acquired by Appellant, Alhaji Ibrahim Kemoh Sesay, former Minister of Works and Public Assets.
The three Court of Appeal Justices; Honourable Justice Komba Kamanda (the Chief Justice presiding), Honourable Justice Fatmatta Bintu Alhadi and Honourable Justice Tonia Barnett unanimously upheld the findings of Justice William A. Atuguba’s Commission of Inquiry. They went further to state that the Appellant’s argument “that the Commission of Inquiry was not properly constituted is baseless.”
The Honourable justices concluded that the costs of these proceedings and that in the Commission of Inquiry be borne by the Appellant and to be taxed if not agreed upon.
