Chief Justice Plays Host to the Egyptian Ambassador

Judiciary of Sierra Leone Communications, Chief Justice’s Chambers, Main Law Courts Building, Freetown, 6th January, 2025: Sierra Leone’s Chief Justice, His Lordship Justice Komba Kamanda has today received the Egyptian Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Her Excellency Ms Rashna Soliman Mohi Eldin Soliman and team at his Chambers on Siaka Stevens Street in Freetown.

Welcoming the Ambassador and her team, the Hon. Chief Justice said Sierra Leone and the Republic of Egypt have enjoyed unique bilateral ties spanning across decades which he hopes continues to grow stronger to the benefit of both countries.

Her Excellency Ms Rashna Soliman Mohi Eldin Soliman congratulated the Hon. Chief Justice on his appointment to the office and disclosed that the visit is not only a courtesy call on the leadership of the third arm of the government of Sierra Leone but also aimed at identifying and discussing areas of partnership and synergy between the two countries.

She assured that her administration is willing to offer assistance to the judiciary in areas such as capacity building and logistical support in ensuring effective service delivery.

Responding, the Hon. Chief Justice pointed out that the judiciary’s biggest challenge is moving towards modernization especially in areas such as internet connectivity, paperless office and mobile/virtual court sittings among others. He assured that the Embassy will be fully informed on areas which needed immediate support in the interest of justice.

The Chief Justice and the Ambassador expressed interest in fostering cooperation between the third arm of Government in both countries.

The Egyptian Ambassador presented to the Chief Justice an artistically designed image of Tutankhamun, a name held by an ancient Egyptian King who was popularly celebrated for his strides to get Egypt to revert back to their best traditional practices.
